Personality: Though she seems quite sad, Eiko is a light person inside, seeking only happiness. Sometimes she does hold an upbeat posture, smiling like a madman. Her many scars as a child lead her to be timid of others, maybe a quick faint smile to a stranger. Hollow, and good word to describe how she feels to others sometimes. Hoarse, worn, beaten, it seems cruel to make a child like so. Though now, she tries to find that one spark of hope deep within her. Eiko opens up to those who are trustworthy to her. Making her most on the gullible side. She has a temper at some points in time, mood swings as some may say. She would hold her chin up defiantly, holding an argument steady and strong. Those 'arguments' disappear easily as the tantrum subsides, usually with the outburst of tears. Eiko wishes occasionally, as if grasping a memory she could not remember.
Appearance: Eiko is a bit short for her age, standing 4ft 3in. She wears a lose flowing dress that comes about 4 inches above her knee. The dress is a dark purple with a white collar and puffed sleeves .A neatly tied dark red bow is tied around her stomach. Eiko has pure white gloves, coming up on her wrist. She wears clunky black shoes that tap each time she walks. Her hair is a wild mess, a shade of both grey and black. It curls at odd places, even though it is short.Eiko's eyes are a light blue color, and her skin is partially tanned.
History: Her mother died out of an illness, dieing shortly after Eiko's fifth birthday. Her father, tired and depressed, began drinking and smoking. This lead to child abuse, a way to relieve his anger. He decided to send her to the boarding school as a way to get rid of her. Eiko saw this as a way to start over, and have a better life.
Role play sample:
Crash
Eiko jumped, her hands covering her face as she sinked to the cold floor. She could hear the thudding of steps above her, the sharp yells of her father.
This can't be? Why me? Why is it always me!? She thought, whimpering softly and curling herself into a tight ball. The glass cup had slipped from her hands, she tripped, it was an accident.
The door to her room slammed open, the smell of smoke flooded the room. Eiko squeezed her eyes shut sucking in the last bit of clean air that was left.
"Aye! Eiko, what is going on? Come on girl!"
She cringed, lifting a heavy head slowly. "I...I d-didn't m-mean to, i-it was an a-accident." She stuttered, her bottom lip barely moving. Her father grabbed the back collar of her dress, yanking Eiko up off the ground. He pressed his head against hers and whispered venomously, " I don't care you see. I'd rather have you cut and hurt than you clean and fine and apologetic."
He let her go, and she landed on the ground with a loud plop. The father bent down, eying Eiko as if she was a wild animal, and picked up one of the glass shards. He fingered it gently, speaking extremely slowly.
"You see, Eiko, I have enrolled you in a new school, a boarding school for that matter in Maine. You will be leaving, understand? Now go pack your bags, we leave now."
Eiko looked up, tears accumulating in her light blue eyes. "But I don't want to leave," She stood up shakily, "No, I won't leave!" The father snatched her wrist, saying sharply, "Now."
They sat there, a young girl and her mentally depressed father. A train station for that matter, and Eiko didn't all too mind. Her eyes would avert to her father, and he would glance occasionally at her too. She swung her feet up and down. One of her fingers twirled a strand of black hair. She gazed up at the bleak sky, its blackness stretching out like an oblivion. Off in the distance, Eiko could make out puffs of smoke. She tugged her father's sleeve and whispered quietly, "It's coming."
The father nodded, taking out a cigarette and lighting it. He inhaled, then blew it out, the smoke curling like mist in the cool night air.
Minutes passed.
"All aboard!"
Eiko stood up, her father guiding her way. "Now run along." He said, pushing her forward. Eiko paused, then dropped her bags. She turned on her heel, out stretching her arms widely. She then buried her head in her father's ragged clothes. Eiko could smell the smoke, the alcohol, and something familiar. She pulled away, saying softly, "Please don't hate me." She quickly grabbed her bags and ran toward the conductor, climbing the trains rusty steps. She only dared to look back when the station became a tiny dot in the distance.
